Frequently Asked Questions

A: Yes! GregAlan has taught consistently since AB’s founding in 2010. He continues to teach the Master level class every Saturday.

A: Actor’s Breakthrough does not teach “technique”. At AB, actors are taught to work not from the head…but from the heart and from the gut. Acting for the camera is not an “intellectual” pursuit. Life is not lived by “technique”. What we are called to do as professional actors is “to portray life as it is lived on earth”.

A: No. Actors Breakthrough is not a talent agency. However, unlike most acting schools, AB places a heavy focus on helping actors thoroughly understand the “Business of the Business”— precisely how the business works and how to build a successful career.

A: We understand that at many Atlanta acting schools getting into a class is as simple as registering online. However, at AB we want to meet you, learn some things about you; your goals and your abilities. We, also, want you to meet us to make sure that AB is a good fit for your present and for your future. Our goal is to get you working!

A: There is no timeline for when you will be ready to compete for roles in series television and feature film. However, since its founding, dozens of AB students have become real “working actors”.

A: The primary step is to learn how to act—how to make the audience believe that you are who you are pretending to be. The next step is to enroll at Actor’s Breakthrough.

A: Absolutely not! The misguided notion that one needs “a hook-up” in order to be successful is, perhaps, the most damaging misinformation out there. Casting Directors are simply looking for people who can “do the work”

A: The actor – agency relationship is a “business” relationship. Agents receive 10% of an actor’s earnings. Generally speaking, agents agree to represent an actor because they believe that actor can book roles.

A: The Actor’s Breakthrough curriculum was developed by 25-year Film/TV/Stage veteran GregAlan Williams. Mr. Williams is one of the busiest actors in America–still booking memorable roles in series television and feature film. This means that the training at AB is based, not on theory or technique, but on current and practical, industry-based standards, skills, and, information. Actors Breakthrough teaches actors not only how to act but how to work successfully in film and television.

A: Actor’s Breakthrough believes in educating not only the child but the family as well—teaching parents how to best work with their young actor, helping them master the business of the business, as well as how to keep their young actor safe in an industry that is not always child friendly. Our goal is to get your young actor working!

A: Dozens of AB alumni are now working actors in network television and studio feature film.

A: AB offers a comprehensive six (6) week to eight (8) week course program
